[Barely] Wordless Wednesday

Happy Birthday, Grayson!
Shoving the cake in his face.

Lickin' his fingers clean.

I'll get better pictures from my mom or sister-in-law.

Random Fact: Sun-Sneezer

For as long as I can remember everytime I've walked outside into the sun I've sneezed.  Everytime!  And it can get a little old.

I recently remembered to Google "why do I sneeze in the sun".  The answer: photic sneeze reflex also known as achoo syndrome.
"Photic sneeze reflex is an autosomal dominant hereditary trait which causes sneezing (due to naso-ocular reflex) when suddenly exposed to bright light, possibly many times consecutively. The condition affects 18-35% of the human population." [via]
My mom always told me there was a name for what I had, but I never remembered to look it up until just the other day.  Now I feel better knowing what it's called so when someone asks or makes a comment then I can tell them why I sneeze.

"The number of successive sneezes is usually 2 or 3, but can be up to about 40." [via] Luckily, I only sneeze 2 or 3 times everytime. I don't know what I would do if it was more than that.

Another random fact: everytime I sneeze I get the goosebumps.  Hubs thinks I'm the weirdest person ever.  Which I have to admit, I am quite weird.

Anyone else have the achoo syndrome or am I alone here?  Share a random fact about yourself with me!

Please bear with me while I try to write a decent post.

Not to be confused with bare with me.  We should all keep our clothes on. ;)

I've Been Sick

I just wanted to apologize for the lack of blogging going on here.  I've wanted to write but I've been tired and out of it.  The only thing that comes to mind is how awful I feel most of the time.

I some how developed a cold. In the summer. In ARIZONA. In Phoenix, nonetheless.  Don't ask me how because I'm not sure.  But I'm blaming my cat.  Now Hubs is catching it.  (And he's a bigger whiner than I am.)

BUT something is coming soon here. I promise!  I just have to figure out what!

I'm open to ideas.

I hope everything is going well for all of you.  I'll be back soon!

"OH NO HE DIDN'T!" Tuesday

This is my first time participating in "OH NO HE DIDN'T!" Tuesday.  Mine will be no where near as funny as Kristi's are at Live and Love... Out Loud, the creator of "OH NO HE DIDN'T!" Tuesday.  Go over there and check her out!

And he calls me a klutz!

Last night we were making dinner.  Just some Velveeta Shells & Cheese.  Neither of us were very hungry since we had a snack when I came home from work.
Once I was done boiling the noodles Hubs was going to drain them.

The pot was almost empty.  So to make sure he got all of the water out of the pot, he shook it.  And in doing so he dropped the lid of the pot in the bottom of the sink.  Which caused about half the noodles to fall into the garbage disposal and the other half spread out in the sink.

OH NO HE DIDN'T!

Once that happened, Hubs looks over at me and says, "So, what else do you want for dinner?"  Luckily, I keep lots of pasta on hand.  So we just made a bag of rotini pasta and we used the cheese sauce that comes with the Velveeta Shells & Cheese.

Luckily we didn't have any problems draining the second pot of pasta.

Weekend Update!

  • Saturday we went to my parents house to see my nephew, Grayson, since my mom was babysitting him.  When we got there though he was napping again.  So we watched television for about an hour or so.
  • It was time for Grayson to get up since he hadn't even had lunch yet.  So my mom fed him some lunch. It took him awhile to get used to me since it had been about a month since he last saw me.  But he finally did.  I got lots of smiles out of him which were incredibly adorable.
Grayson on the verge of a smile.

  • After lunch, my mom decided we should take Grayson swimming.  I'll have my mom email the pictures I took of him on her camera.  Her camera died before she could get a shot of me holding him.  He held onto my the entire time we were swimming.  I would give him to my dad and he would want to come right back to me.  Super cute!
  • On Sunday I woke up and made cookies!  I had been craving them since Thursday night.
  • I finally bought some new bras from Lane Bryant.  I got four because they were buy one get one free.  But they are still way too expensive!
  • I decided I wanted to paint my nails.  They've been super boring because I haven't wanted to go spend a fortune to have someone paint them.

I got Hubs to help with the toes. ;)
  • Not quite the weekend, but today Hubs received a package from his Grandpa, "Eagle Bill".  Hubs had received a call from his Grandpa last week asking him if he wanted a pair of his old cowboy boots from when he was a little boy, so Hubs said sure.  His Grandpa said he would also send some photos.  (Just to give you an idea, these boots are smaller then the palm of my hand.)  He mailed these all the way from Alaska.

How cute are these?!

Being with my nephew made me realize how much I really do want kids. My own kids. Making him smile and taking him swimming was amazing. I can't wait to do that with my own children.

How was your weekend?  What did you do?

We Wore Green For Wyatt River Peek

Did you?

My heart goes out to Courtney, her husband Jason and the rest of her family.  No one should have to go through what they've been through.  You're in my thoughts always.  We love you.

Burnin' Down The House

Last night, right as Hubs and I were getting ready to go to bed we heard sirens.  A lot of them.  And our dogs were in the backyard barking up a storm.  At first we just heard Police sirens so that didn't make me feel so safe.  So Hubs went into the bedroom to grab his gun and put on some flip flops on so he could take a look out back.  I put some flip flops on too, so I could tag along.

While walking back through our living room one of our windows was completely lit up by lights.  Red and blue lights.  Hubs said, "That sounds like a fire truck."  So, I pulled up the blinds and sure enough there was a firetruck parked right next to the wall on the side of our house.

So, we went out back.  Hubs with his gun in tow and me following behind him.  And this is the first thing we see when we walk outside...

A HOUSE ON FIRE!  I'm pretty sure this is the closest I've been to a burning house.  And this one was practically in my backyard.

Apparently it was a good way to get the neighborhood together.

That's how close is was. Literally right out our back door.

I tried to get the firemen. Damn their reflective gear!

Sorry the photos are blurry. I had to turn off flash and that makes the pictures really blurry, but you get the point. THE HOUSE WAS ON FIRE!

Tattoo Thursday

Welcome to the tenth round of Tattoo Tuesday.  This week it's on a Thursday because I'm lazy.  (To be honest, I completely forgot about this tattoo until about an hour before I started writing this post.  It's in a spot I hardly ever see!)

Get caught up: first, second, third, fourth, fifth, sixth, seventh, eighth and ninth.

Anchor; Location: left hip bone area; Age: 19

Don't mind the awkward skin color.  You can thank poor lighting.  I'm really as white as a ghost, it's rather pathetic, haha!

Well, I like anchors and my father was in the Navy.  So, I got an anchor.  Pretty simple.  I really like it and wish I could show it off more, but I need to tone up a bit in that area.

Do you have a tattoo you'd like to share?  Leave a comment telling me about it!

Age: 11 months. Size of suit: 18 months.
Hubs gets credit for the suit, he picked it out.

Look at that face! How can you not love it?!

Her Secrets Out

A friend/coworker of mine is about to tell our human resources manager and boss that she's pregnant. I'm very happy for her, but I'm not looking forward to the comments I'll be getting once more people find out about it.

This is the second baby she's had while working here. After her, there was another girl who had a baby. Then another girl had a baby. I am now the only younger married person at our work who hasn't had a baby or isn't pregnant.

During all three pregnancies I was asked a lot of questions and received tons of comments about when I'd be having one or trying for one.
"Now it's your turn!" "When are you going to have a baby?" You name it, they probably asked me. I'm not looking forward to it this time around, since we're actually trying.

I've been thinking about this for a few weeks. When these people start asking me questions or making comments how do I want to answer? Snarky? Vauge? Completely ignore them? Tell them it's none of their concern? Tell them that's rude to ask/say since they don't know my situation? (Just thought of that one this weekend.) I haven't decided yet. I spoke with Hubs about this and obviously he thinks I'm silly, but I can't help it.

I'm sure my reaction to any question will depend on the mood (or time of the month) I'm in. I'm really leaning towards snarky, because then maybe they won't bug me again.

I'm sure some of you have been in this situation. What did you do?
